How do I register for a class?

Registering for a class tells us that you want to take a particular course such as Old Testament. Enrolling for the academy is a different process which allows you access to the school. There are two parts, first register, then enroll. You have to do them both.

To Register:

There you will see a list of the classes available. Under the description for each class you will see a link to sign up. Just fill out the form using a REAL e-mail address and submit it, that completes your registration process, you will now be sent an email that tells you how to enroll for the class. (be sure you used a real e-mail address and that you typed it carefully!

How do I enroll at the academy?

You may enroll in the academy AFTER registration, to register see above, or before, it really doesn't matter. Just think of it this way:
Enrolling in Academy gives you access to the school.
Registration in a Class gives you access to a particular class we are offering
You only enroll once. But you may register many times depending on how many classes you take at the school.

Enrolling in the academy is a 5 step process, if necessary, print off these directions so that you carefully follow them.

After you register for a class (see above), you will be sent an email from us. It will tell you that you have registered for the class and it will give you an enrollment key. Enrollment keys are given only to the people who have registered for the class. Save this key as you will use it the first time you access the class.

1. MAKE YOUR MERCYDROPS USER NAME AND PASSWORD

The registration letter will tell you to make your user name and password for the Mercydrops Virtual Academy (Online Bible Classes)
Make your User Name and Password by going to
http://www.mercydrops.org
then click on log-in in the upper right corner.

2. FILL OUT THE NEW ACCOUNT FORM

Fill out the New Account Form on the right hand side of the page by clicking on the button "Start Now by creating a new account".

Fill in the form with a user name and password.
You can choose whatever user name you want and whatever password you want. (Be sure to choose a password that you will remember!
Be sure to use a REAL email address because in order to confirm the e-mail address, there is an email verification process. If you do not put in a real e-mail address (or you make any typo errors) it will not come to you, and you will get "stuck" in the registration process. So be sure you type your e-mail address carefully.)

After filling out the form, Click on "Create my new Account"
Wait a couple of minutes and then check your e-mail

3. CONFIRM THE EMAIL ACCOUNT

You will receive an email from us and it will have a website to go to confirm your new account. Go to the website, and then it will tell you that your registration is confirmed and that if you'd like you can update your profile. You may do this if you'd like.

4. FIND YOUR CLASS

When you are ready to find your class, click on Mercydrops in the upper left corner. Then click on the word All Courses (do not click on My classes yet) in the left sidebar. Find your class in the list of all courses.

5. TYPE IN YOUR KEY

It will ask you to type in your key. Type in the key that was in the first letter you received. Press the submit button. You are now FINALLY enrolled in class!

Fear not, You will only have to go through this process once. After this, you are enrolled in the academy. From now on to go to class just log on at http://www.mercydrops.org, click on Log in, enter your user name and password and enjoy your class. (Remember to access your class from the left sidebar by clicking on all courses or my courses.)

Once you are logged in, click on Mercydrops in the upper left corner. You will then see the main index page. In the left sidebar click on view all courses. Click on the course that you are taking. It will ask you to insert your key. If you do not remember the key for your class check the first email you received when you registered for class. Enter the enrollment key that was on your email for that class, and then you are enrolled! You only need to do this once for each class that you sign up for.

Yes, just go to Class Sign Ups
and follow the same procedure for each class that you would like to take.

Enrollment Keys: The enrollment key is used one time only when you first access the class you are taking. You will get an enrollment key for every class you register for. This allows us to keep the classes private.

User Name and Password: Your user name and password are used to log in to the virtual academy. (you can compare this to logging in to AOL or CompuServe) The user name and password are chosen by you. They will remain the same unless you choose to change them at your profile.
(Please Note: We recently made a server change and that meant everyone had to make new user names and passwords, we hope that this new server will mean you never need to do that again.

Why am I having trouble logging on to the site?

First make sure you use the most recent version of your internet browser. Older browser versions may not be able to access the site.

Second be sure to have your browser set properly. You have to enable Internet Explorer to accept cookies. To do this, click on Tools, then click on Internet Options. Then click on the Privacy. You privacy should be at the default setting (click on default) this will set it to Medium level. Next
click on Security tab, and click on default. Now click OK. (You may also click on the Custom Level button. Scroll to the Cookies section and then click on Enable. Click OK, and then click OK again.) This is for many versions of Explorer, and your particular version may differ, but it should still be under Tools and then Internet Options. If you need help enabling cookies, please write to problems@mercydrops.org and we will help you.

The third reason may be due to your firewall. If you have a firewall, try turning it off when you access the site. You can turn it back on when you are done with the class. It is not the case that all firewalls block this site, but we have heard from one or two members who say they have this problem.

The cookie stores who you are to the site. It has your Name, User Name and Password. We do not use this information for anything other than for logging in and associating your name with the classes you take. The reason for this file (cookie) is to make it easier for you when you come back to the site. You won’t have to fill out a long questionnaire every time you go there. It also stores your log-in name and password.

HELP! My Log-in doesn't seem to be working! Are you entering the correct user name and password but can't seem to get to the classes?

If this is the case, try clicking on the word MercyDrops on the upper left corner. Then you'll be taken to the main page. In the left side bar find the words "All Courses", click on that, and then on your class. If that still doesn't work, please email problems@mercydrops.org and we'll be glad to help you.

To change your password, sign in, click on your name, and then click on Change Password.

What about firewalls?
If you have a firewall, in some instances you may have to turn off your firewall while using the site. If you have tried setting your cookies to low and are still unable to get in, the firewall may be the issue. (One firewall that seems to have this issue (not in all cases) is Norton's Security Firewall.)

6. When the email arrives go to the URL that is given in the email. This will confirm your registration. You must do this step or your registration is not complete.		6. Wait for your registration e-mail. When it arrives, read the letter and save the enrollment key.

7. You are now enrolled as a student at Veritas Christian Academy. Proceed to Registration (Blue) Column to register for a class.		Make sure that you have followed the steps under enroll in the academy (left) if you are enrolled, simply log on to the Academy by going to http://www.mercydrops.org and clicking on Log-In in the upper right corner.

		11. Type in the enrollment key You now have access to your class. If you want to take more than one class, simply repeat this process.
